Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac started out in London in 1967 as a blues band built around guitarist Peter Green, with Mick Fleetwood and John McVie as the rhythm section. Those early years produced the instrumental 'Albatross' along with 'Oh Well', 'Black Magic Woman' and 'The Green Manalishi'. After Green left, the line-up changed almost every year, until Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined in 1975 and turned the group into a California pop band with five singers and songwriters. Rumours (1977) sold tens of millions of copies worldwide; it was followed by the wilfully odd Tusk, then Mirage, Tango in the Night and the reunion album The Dance. Fleetwood and John McVie played in every line-up; Christine McVie, the voice behind 'Songbird' and 'Everywhere', died in 2022.
