Electronic Sound consists of two long pieces George Harrison made in 1968 and 1969 with a Moog synthesizer, an instrument barely used in pop music at the time. He recorded "Under the Mersey Wall" at his house in Esher, while "No Time or Space" grew out of a session in Los Angeles with Moog specialist Bernie Krause, who later said the piece was his own demonstration and that he had not given permission for it. The album originally appeared in 1969 as the second and last release on Zapple, Apple's experimental sister label, with a cover Harrison painted himself.

This edition is an LP pressed as a zoetrope picture disc with the 2014 remaster, for Record Store Day.
