J. Cole announced The Fall-Off a full decade before it arrived on 6 February 2026 through Dreamville and Interscope. It is his seventh studio album and his first since The Off-Season in 2021, presented as his last. The album splits into two halves opening with "29 Intro" and "39 Intro", and deals with his standing in rap, where he comes from and the idea that every rise eventually stops. "Safety", "Two Six" and "Who TF Iz U" went out ahead of it. Rolling Stone headlined its review "J. Cole's Final Album Shows a Superstar in His Flawed Glory".
