To Pimp a Butterfly is the third studio album by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, released in 2015. The record blends hip-hop with jazz, funk, soul and spoken word into an ambitious, layered whole. Lamar addresses themes of racial identity, Black culture, fame and personal struggle in the United States. Well-known tracks include "Alright", which became a protest anthem, "King Kunta" and "The Blacker the Berry". The album is regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop records of the decade.
