Kind of Blue is a studio album by American trumpeter Miles Davis, released in 1959. It is regarded as one of the most influential and best-selling jazz albums of all time and a landmark of modal jazz. Davis worked with a sextet that included saxophonists John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley and pianist Bill Evans. The musicians largely improvised over scale structures rather than fixed chord changes. Well-known tracks include "So What", "Freddie Freeloader" and "Blue in Green".
