Judas Priest

Judas Priest built the template for heavy metal in Birmingham: the twin guitars of Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, Rob Halford's soaring vocals, and the leather stage look that gave the genre its visual language. After the still bluesy Rocka Rolla in 1974 the sound sharpened on Sad Wings of Destiny and Stained Class, and British Steel forced the breakthrough in 1980 with Breaking the Law and Living After Midnight. Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith took the band into American arenas, Turbo turned to guitar synthesisers in 1986, and Painkiller pulled everything back towards speed and aggression in 1990, with Scott Travis behind the drums. Halford left in 1992 and returned in 2003, and Richie Faulkner has stood alongside Tipton since 2011. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.

This collection brings together Judas Priest on vinyl, LP and CD: reissues of the seventies and eighties classics, live material, and compilations.
