In August 2005 Pixies played their first acoustic concert at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, on the same grounds where Bob Dylan went electric in 1965. The reunited line-up of Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering took 22 songs from the repertoire through the set, from Where Is My Mind? and Gigantic to Velouria and Monkey Gone to Heaven, in more restrained arrangements than the studio versions. The performance came out on DVD at the time and reached vinyl for the first time twenty years later, for Record Store Day 2026, in a run of 5,500 copies.
