Carnaval de Luz is U2's sixteenth studio album and their first of new material in nine years, arriving in the band's fiftieth year. Jacknife Lee produced it, and Brian Eno co-wrote and plays synthesizers on several tracks. The album follows the EPs Days of Ash and Easter Lily, which followed the church calendar, and closes that run as a celebration. Street of Dreams and Silencio were released ahead of it as singles, and on Torn Bono sings a duet with Dolly Parton.
