Paranoid is the second studio album by the British band Black Sabbath, originally released in 1970. With Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Bill Ward on drums, the record is regarded as one of the foundations of heavy metal. The album contains a series of influential songs, including the title track "Paranoid", "War Pigs", "Iron Man" and "Fairies Wear Boots". The lyrics touch on themes of war, alienation and mental distress, carried by Iommi's heavy, recognisable guitar riffs.
