We Want Miles documents the return of Miles Davis after almost six years of silence. The recordings date from 1981, from Kix in Boston, Avery Fisher Hall in New York and a hall in Tokyo, with Bill Evans on saxophone, Mike Stern on guitar, Marcus Miller on bass, Al Foster on drums and Mino Cinelu on percussion. The stretched-out versions of "My Man's Gone Now" and "Kix" show how carefully Davis rebuilt his embouchure, while "Jean Pierre", with its nursery-rhyme motif, became the standing closer of his later concerts. The live album won him a Grammy and was originally released in 1982 on Columbia. This edition is a 2-LP on opaque yellow vinyl, in a limited run and with a Japanese obi strip.
