Barn was recorded in a restored nineteenth-century barn high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where Neil Young and Crazy Horse moved in with their gear in the summer of 2021 and played the ten songs mostly live. You can hear it: the opening "Song of the Seasons" eases in on accordion and harmonica, "Welcome Back" sits on the same loop for minutes on end, and "Canerican" and "Human Race" answer with hard, unpolished guitars. Nils Lofgren is the second guitarist here, alongside Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina. The album was released in December 2021 on Reprise Records. This edition is a deluxe box holding the LP, the CD and a Blu-ray of the accompanying film.
