Lightning Bolt is Pearl Jam's tenth studio album and appeared in October 2013, four years after Backspacer. Brendan O'Brien produced, as he had on most of the band's 1990s work. The first half is fast and hard — 'Mind Your Manners' rips past at punk tempo, the title track follows with a heavy riff — after which the second half settles into quieter, more melodic material such as 'Sirens', 'Sleeping By Myself' and the closing 'Future Days'. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number one, the fifth time Pearl Jam managed that, and it also topped the charts in Canada and Australia.
