Rearviewmirror gathers Pearl Jam's best-known songs from the years 1991-2003 and originally appeared in 2004. The collection is split into two parts; this first part, the 'up' side, brings together the harder and faster material. It includes 'Alive', 'Even Flow', 'Jeremy', 'Go', 'Animal', 'Corduroy', 'Spin the Black Circle' and 'Do the Evolution', along with 2004 remixes of 'Once' and 'Alive'. The running order is largely chronological, moving from the debut Ten through to Riot Act. It was the first official summary of the band's first twelve years.
