Greatest Hits gathers the best-known Red Hot Chili Peppers songs from more than a decade, from the funk rock of Blood Sugar Sex Magik to the more melodic period that followed John Frusciante's return in 1998. The compilation originally came out in 2003 and lines up 'Under the Bridge', 'Give It Away', 'Californication', 'Scar Tissue', 'Otherside' and 'By the Way', alongside 'Soul to Squeeze', which had earlier appeared on the Coneheads soundtrack. For the occasion the band recorded two new songs with producer Rick Rubin, 'Fortune Faded' and 'Save the Population'. This edition is a 2-LP on black vinyl.
