No Gods No Masters is Garbage's seventh studio album, released in June 2021 on Infectious Music. Shirley Manson let the number seven steer the record: "This is our seventh record, the significant numerology of which affected the DNA of its content: the seven virtues, the seven sorrows, and the seven deadly sins", she said when announcing it. The lyrics deal with abuse of power, inequality and the chaos of those years, pushed along by 'The Men Who Rule the World', 'Wolves' and the title track. Musically, hard beats, distorted synths and sharp guitar lines sit next to more restrained songs such as 'Uncomfortably Me'.
