Eight Miles High was Golden Earring's fifth studio album and originally appeared in 1969, the first release under the name The Golden Earring. It was recorded in August and September of that year at Olympic Sound Studios in London. The title track, a cover of The Byrds, stretches out past nineteen minutes and fills a full side; it is the longest song the band ever recorded and shows how far the group from The Hague pushed into psychedelia at the time. Around it sit shorter pieces such as Landing, Song of a Devil's Servant and Everyday's Torture. It was the only album with drummer Sieb Warner, who was soon succeeded by Cesar Zuiderwijk. This edition is a remastered and expanded release with bonus tracks and a documentary.
