Golden Earring

Golden Earring started out in The Hague in 1961 as The Golden Earrings, founded by teenagers George Kooymans and Rinus Gerritsen, and grew into the longest running rock band in the Netherlands. With singer Barry Hay and drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk on board, the group moved from Nederbeat and psychedelia to the hard guitar rock of Moontan, whose Radar Love became a worldwide hit in 1973. The 1980s brought a second international wave with Twilight Zone from Cut and When the Lady Smiles from N.E.W.S., after which the acoustic Naked Truth records and the ballad Going to the Run made the band big at home again in the 1990s. Golden Earring stopped in 2021 after Kooymans was diagnosed with ALS. He died in July 2025, and in January 2026 Hay, Gerritsen and Zuiderwijk said their goodbyes at Rotterdam Ahoy with the One Last Night concerts.

This collection brings together Golden Earring on vinyl, LP and CD: reissues of the studio albums, live albums and compilations from more than sixty years of band history.
