Van Halen is the debut album by the American hard rock band Van Halen, released in 1978 and produced by Ted Templeman. The album introduced the guitar playing of Eddie Van Halen, with the influential solo piece 'Eruption' as its calling card. Other well-known tracks include 'Runnin' with the Devil', 'Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love', 'Jamie's Cryin'' and a cover of The Kinks' 'You Really Got Me'. The line-up consisted of Eddie and Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony.
