When Adrian Vandenberg injured his wrist just before the sessions, Steve Vai took on all the guitar parts on Slip of the Tongue, giving the album a more technical and sharper sound than its predecessor. It originally came out in 1989 and held a new recording of Fool for Your Loving alongside The Deeper the Love, Now You're Gone and Judgment Day. In both the United States and the United Kingdom it reached number ten. This anniversary edition adds remixes and alternate versions, among them several mixes of Fool for Your Loving and an alternate intro for the title track. This edition is a 2-LP.
