Steve Miller Band
The Steve Miller Band came together in San Francisco in 1966 around guitarist Steve Miller, who had learned his trade in the blues clubs of Chicago. The debut Children Of The Future (1968) was recorded in London with Glyn Johns engineering and still leaned psychedelic, but by the mid-seventies Miller had found a tighter formula: The Joker, Fly Like An Eagle, and Book Of Dreams produced radio staples such as Take The Money And Run, Rock'n Me, and Jet Airliner. In 1982 Abracadabra spent two weeks at number 1 on the US Hot 100. The compilation Greatest Hits 1974-78 was certified fifteen times platinum in the United States, and Steve Miller entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
This collection brings together Steve Miller Band on vinyl, LP and CD: the early records from the sixties and seventies, later studio work, and live releases.
