Morrison Hotel first appeared in 1970 as The Doors' fifth studio album and marked a return to raw blues and rock after the more experimental The Soft Parade. Opener 'Roadhouse Blues' was cut with Lonnie Mack on bass and John Sebastian on harmonica. The two album sides were named Hard Rock Cafe and Morrison Hotel, after real locations in Los Angeles. The album also held tracks such as 'Peace Frog', 'Waiting for the Sun' and 'Queen of the Highway'. The cover photo, by Henry Diltz, was taken at the actual Morrison Hotel in Los Angeles.
