The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips started out in Oklahoma City in 1983 as a raw punk band and grew into one of the most idiosyncratic groups in American indie. Led by singer Wayne Coyne, their sound moved from guitar noise to the orchestral psychedelia of The Soft Bulletin (1999) and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (2002), which won a Grammy. The experiments belong to the story just as much: Zaireeka consists of four CDs meant to be played at the same time, and on American Head (2020) the band returned to songs about their Oklahoma youth. Their shows are known for confetti, balloons and Coyne rolling over the crowd inside a clear bubble.

This collection brings together The Flaming Lips on vinyl, LP and CD: early albums from the eighties, reissues of the classics, compilations and rarer Record Store Day pressings.
