Hear It Is was the debut album by The Flaming Lips, and it caught a band still running mainly on guitar noise. The Oklahoma City group recorded it with producer Randy Burns and originally released it in 1986 on Restless Records. Wayne Coyne took over lead vocals here for the first time, after his brother Mark left the band. On tracks such as Jesus Shootin' Heroin, Trains, Brains & Rain and She Is Death their punk approach rubs against the psychedelic flourishes that later became a trademark. This edition is an LP.
