Splinter is the seventh studio album by the American punk band The Offspring, released in 2003. The California group returned to a shorter, faster and rawer approach after the more polished sound of earlier records. The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien and yielded the singles Hit That and (Can't Get My) Head Around You. Running a little over half an hour, Splinter combines melodic punk rock with the humorous and sometimes cynical streak that characterizes the band. It is the last record to feature drummer Ron Welty before he left the group.
