Foreign Affair was originally released in September 1989 as Tina Turner's seventh solo album, issued by Capitol Records. It gave her a first number 1 album in the United Kingdom and was a large success across Europe. Tony Joe White wrote and played on tracks including "Steamy Windows", "Undercover Agent for the Blues" and the title track, which has Mark Knopfler on guitar. The best-known song is "The Best", written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight and carried by a saxophone solo from Edgar Winter; it grew into Turner's signature song. "I Don't Wanna Lose You" and "Look Me in the Heart" were released as singles as well.
