In the summer of 1988 the Netherlands won the European football championship, and the song that went with it closes this album: "Wij houden van Oranje", written by Hans van Hemert, with a chorus built on the melody of "Auld Lang Syne" and the players of the national team singing backing vocals. Released as a single credited to André Hazes en het Nederlands Elftal, it reached number 1 in the Nationale Hitparade. The rest of the album, originally released in 1988 on EMI, consists of the kind of ballads Hazes built his audience on, from the opener "Blijf bij mij" to "Bedankt mijn vriend" and the title track. This edition is an LP on gold vinyl.
