For Petal, Ariana Grande retreated to the studio in early 2026 with Iranian-Swedish producer Ilya Salmanzadeh, co-writing the album and shaping it with him as executive producer. The result is her eighth studio album, released on 31 July 2026 through her own label BabyDoll Music and Republic Records, and the follow-up to Eternal Sunshine from 2024. Its twelve songs revolve around letting go of unhealthy attachments and emotional growth, wrapped in the R&B-tinged pop Grande built her name on. The lead single Hate That I Made You Love Me arrived in late May, reuniting her with Max Martin. This edition is an LP on white vinyl.
