Anthology 2 is a compilation album by The Beatles, originally released in 1996 as the second volume of the Anthology series. The album documents the 1965-1968 period, from the Help! sessions through to Magical Mystery Tour, by way of outtakes, demos, alternative takes and live recordings. It opens with 'Real Love', a John Lennon demo that the three surviving Beatles completed in 1995 and which appeared as a new single. It further includes early versions of 'Strawberry Fields Forever', 'Yesterday' and 'A Day In The Life', alongside live recordings made in Tokyo in 1966. The album shows how the band evolved during these years from a touring pop group into an experimental studio band. Anthology 2 reached number one on both the British and American album charts. This release is a 3-LP on black vinyl.
