Arirang is the fifth studio album by South Korean group BTS and their first group release in more than three years. The record marks the return of the seven-piece after a period of individual projects and military service. Its title references "Arirang", the best-known traditional Korean folk song, giving the album a pronounced connection to Korean identity. Musically, BTS blend pop, hip-hop and R&B, as is characteristic of the group. The album resumes the seven-piece's shared work after their hiatus.
