Blackstar appeared on 8 January 2016, Bowie's sixty-ninth birthday, two days before his death, unintentionally taking on the character of a musical testament. Together with producer Tony Visconti and a New York jazz group around saxophonist Donny McCaslin, David Bowie explored jazz, electronics and art rock on his final studio album, centred on the ten-minute title track and Lazarus. The album won five Grammy Awards. This edition is an LP on black vinyl.
