Modern Love is a tribute album on which contemporary artists from soul, jazz, funk and R&B reinterpret songs by David Bowie. The project highlights Bowie's lesser-known ties to Black music, inspired by the jazz influences on his final album Blackstar. Contributors include Khruangbin, Meshell Ndegeocello, We Are King, Jeff Parker and Helado Negro, who pull songs such as 'Life on Mars?', 'Sound and Vision', 'Golden Years' and 'Heroes' into their own worlds. The result is an eclectic collection that hears Bowie's music through a soul and jazz lens.
