The title Diamond Star Halos comes from T. Rex's Get It On, and that glam-rock streak runs through the pianos and handclaps on the album. Def Leppard worked on it during the pandemic from separate studios, with files going back and forth. Bluegrass singer Alison Krauss sings on This Guitar and Lifeless, while Take What You Want, Kick and Fire It Up hit harder. The twelfth studio album was released on 27 May 2022 through Mercury Records. This edition is a 2-LP on clear vinyl.
