The Complete Thom Bell Sessions gathers the recordings Elton John made in 1977 with Philadelphia soul producer Thom Bell — an excursion into the warm Philly sound. These sessions produced 'Mama Can't Buy You Love', which became a US top 10 single. Backing vocals came from Bobby Smith and John Edwards of The Spinners. Where only three tracks appeared in 1979, this release brought the complete six-track session together.
