Money and Cigarettes was the first album Eric Clapton recorded after he got sober, and the first for his own Duck Records imprint; it originally appeared in 1983. He put together a band with bassist Donald "Duck" Dunn, drummer Roger Hawkins, and Ry Cooder on slide guitar, and picked up his blues repertoire again with "Everybody Oughta Make a Change" by Sleepy John Estes, "Crosscut Saw" by Albert King, and "Crazy Country Hop" by Johnny Otis. The best-known track is "I've Got a Rock 'n' Roll Heart".
