Two generations of blues guitar on one album: B.B. King was 74 when he went into the studio with Eric Clapton, who produced the sessions with Simon Climie. Riding with the King was originally released in June 2000 on Duck/Reprise and lines up twelve songs, from King's own repertoire (Ten Long Years, Three O'Clock Blues) to the title track, a John Hiatt cover. The two trade solos and vocals without it turning into a duel; King's vibrato and Clapton's drier tone complement each other. The album won the Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album and spent 48 weeks at number one on the US blues chart. This edition is a 2LP on gold.
