With Over-Nite Sensation Frank Zappa set his satire in a tight, funky rock form. 'Camarillo Brillo', 'I'm the Slime', 'Dirty Love', 'Zomby Woof' and 'Montana' sketch a series of American types, from a television screen addressing its own viewers to a man dreaming of raising dental floss in Montana, while the band underneath shifts through changing time signatures. The line-up included keyboard player George Duke, violinist Jean-Luc Ponty and percussionist Ruth Underwood; backing vocals came from the Ikettes, with an uncredited Tina Turner. The album originally appeared in September 1973 on DiscReet Records. This edition is a 2-LP on black vinyl, cut at 45 rpm for the fiftieth anniversary edition.
