We Can't Dance became the last studio album with Phil Collins. The trio took its time at their own studio, The Farm, and delivered more than seventy minutes of music, with plenty of room for the longer form the band had never quite let go: Driving The Last Spike about the labourers who built the British railways, Dreaming While You Sleep, and the closing Fading Lights. Alongside those came the single No Son Of Mine and the ballad Hold On My Heart, plus I Can't Dance and Jesus He Knows Me, whose videos sent up a jeans commercial and a television evangelist. The album originally came out in 1991 and reached number 1 in the UK.
