Greatest Hits gathers fifteen tracks from 1987 to 1993, from Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child o' Mine to Patience, November Rain, and Civil War, along with the covers Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Live and Let Die, and Sympathy for the Devil. The compilation was originally released in 2004 and was put together by the label; Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan went to court at the time to try to stop it. The running order is not chronological, mixing the raw hard rock of the debut with the broader material from the Use Your Illusion period. The vinyl editions also carry Shadow of Your Love, a 1986 recording that only surfaced in 2018 on the reissue of Appetite for Destruction. This edition is a 2-LP picture disc.
