For Soldier, Iggy Pop headed to Rockfield Studios in Wales with a line-up that says as much about the moment as the music does: Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols on bass, Ivan Kral on guitar and Barry Andrews of XTC on keyboards. James Williamson started out as producer but was pushed aside during the sessions, leaving Pat Moran to finish the record. David Bowie sang backing vocals on "Play It Safe" alongside members of Simple Minds. The album originally came out in 1980 on Arista and also features "Loco Mosquito", "I'm a Conservative", "Ambition" and "Dog Food". This edition is an LP on black vinyl.
