Zombie Birdhouse was made in New York with Chris Stein of Blondie producing, for Stein's own Animal Records label. Iggy Pop deliberately steered clear of ordinary rock songs here: the tracks are full of lopsided rhythms, thin sounding keyboards, trumpet and lyrics that swing between absurdism and observation, from "Run Like a Villain" and "Eat or Be Eaten" to "The Horse Song". The album originally came out in 1982 and then stayed hard to find for years, until Caroline reissued it in 2019. This edition is an LP.
