Shabooh Shoobah opened INXS up beyond Australia. The third studio album, originally released on 13 October 1982, grew out of a single session: the band paid for the recording of "The One Thing" with Mark Opitz at Paradise Studios in Sydney themselves, then built a full album from there. Opitz produced the album, which became the first INXS record to get a worldwide release and reached number 5 on the Australian albums chart. "The One Thing", "Don't Change", "To Look At You", and "Black and White" all appeared as singles.
