Song to a Seagull, originally released in 1968 on Reprise Records, is Joni Mitchell's debut album, produced by David Crosby. It is divided into two thematic halves — 'I Came to the City' and 'Out of the City and Down to the Seaside' — built around the pull between city and coast. With just voice, guitar and piano, Mitchell laid the groundwork for her later work. For this reissue she reworked the original mix together with Matt Lee, having called it 'atrocious' herself.
