British Steel was the sixth Judas Priest studio album, released in 1980, and it carried the band to a wide audience. Tom Allom recorded it at Tittenhurst Park, Ringo Starr's country house, where smashing milk bottles and a rattling cutlery tray were used as percussion on Breaking the Law and Metal Gods. The songs became shorter and more direct than on the predecessors, with Breaking the Law, Living After Midnight, and United as singles. It was the first album with drummer Dave Holland, who replaced Les Binks. British Steel reached number 4 in the United Kingdom.

This edition is a 2-LP picture disc released for Record Store Day, with Red, White & Blue and a live version of Grinder as bonus tracks.
