Misfits, from 1978, is about outsiders: people who cannot keep up, will not join in, or walk just out of step. It came in an unsettled period for the band, bassist John Dalton left during the sessions and Ray Davies took most of it into his own hands. A Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy became the best known single and reached the American top 40, while Black Messiah and Out of the Wardrobe show how sharp, and sometimes uncomfortable, his observations could be. This edition is an LP.
