Blue Banisters came later in 2021, a good six months after Chemtrails Over the Country Club, and it sounds looser for it: piano, acoustic guitar, and a handful of songs that had circulated among fans for years before getting their final versions here, among them "Dealer", "Cherry Blossom", and "Nectar of the Gods". Lana Del Rey worked with a rotating cast of producers instead of one fixed name. The lyrics are unusually direct and autobiographical, about her sisters, her family, and the house in the title. "Arcadia", "Text Book", and the title track came out ahead of the album as singles.
