For her third studio album Lana Del Rey went to Nashville, where Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys took over production. The result is rougher and more guitar-led than Born to Die, full of reverb, tremolo, and tempos pulled down even further. Ultraviolence entered at number one in both the United States and the United Kingdom in 2014, a first for her on either chart. "West Coast", "Shades of Cool", and "Brooklyn Baby" became the best known songs, alongside bonus tracks such as "Black Beauty" and "Florida Kilos".
