Het project werd in 2014 uitgebracht als een gratis download en wordt gezien als hoogtepunt in Mac's carrière. Criticus Craig Jenkins omschreef Faces kort na de release als 'het beste werk uit zijn carrière'. Er staan samenwerkingen op met artiesten als Vincent Staples, ScHoolboy Q en Earl Sweatshirt en de nog niet eerder uitgebrachte track 'Yeah'.
