Thriller originally came out in 1982 as Michael Jackson's sixth studio album and was produced by Quincy Jones. The album included singles such as "Billie Jean", "Beat It", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" and the title track "Thriller". With an estimated worldwide total of more than a hundred million copies sold, Thriller is considered the best-selling album of all time. The music combined pop, funk, rock and R&B, including a guitar solo by Eddie Van Halen on "Beat It". Thriller won eight Grammy Awards in 1984, including Album of the Year. Its accompanying music videos, especially the one for "Thriller", changed the role of music videos in popular culture.
