With thirty years of active, wicked service behind them, NECROPHOBIC are undisputed legends of the death and black metal underground. Founded in 1989 by drummer Joakim Sterner, the Stockholm-based group championed an idiosyncratic and fearless vision from the outset and proved their skill with the now-legendary debut album 'The Nocturnal Silence' in 1993. NECROPHOBIC avoided the self-conscious amateurism and primitive sound that many of their peers held dear, and established a bold and vivid identity of their own, with a densely melodic yet endlessly malicious take on macabre extreme metal that has since been followed by countless lesser bands. 'The Third Antichrist' is NECROPHOBIC's third full-length record and was originally released in 1999. The Swedish black death metal legends are relaunching this album as one of a total of nine upcoming reissues. Anyone who enjoys a well-produced mix of death metal with light black metal ingredients should not pass this album by. Like the earlier releases 'Hrimthursum', 'Death To All' and 'Satanic Blasphemies' this year, 'The Third Antichrist' was also remastered by Dan Swänö at Unisound Studio.
