Zuma is the album on which Crazy Horse returned with a new line-up: after the death of Danny Whitten, Frank "Poncho" Sampedro took over second guitar alongside Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina. After the bleak run that ended with Tonight's the Night, Neil Young sounds bright and loud again here, with short rockers such as "Don't Cry No Tears" and "Barstool Blues". The centrepiece is "Cortez the Killer", seven minutes in which a wandering guitar solo accompanies the conquest of Mexico. The recordings took shape around Point Dume in Malibu, where Young and the band were living and working at the time. The album originally came out in 1975 on Reprise Records. This edition is an LP.
